Nothing compares to the moment in which you take off your metallic gladiators and you step on the burning beach. If you are like us, in love with the beach more than the slopes, then most likely that this season’s getaway is definitely to an exotic location.

The beach package should definitely include the best swimsuit and for 2012 / 2013, we can tell you the forecast is looking HOT! This doesn’t necessarily mean tiny tiny suits, but in fact, it’s all about the one-piece bathing suits. You know what they say – What you cannot see, it’s left to be imagined and therefore it’s much more intriguing.

Far from being just a 50s or a 60s icon, the one-piece swimwear lengthens your silhouette and creates a toner look. This type of bathing suit highlights your legs, bust and back by using different types of detailing: zippers, color-blocking or cut-out accents.

This summer, sportive accents have also taken over the swimwear department. Isabel Marant is the designer who has massively contributed to the sport-chic trend and I am by no means surprised to see that in fashionable beachwear we now have snorkeling or surf-inspired styles. Plenty of white, black and navy and some stripes – this is how you get a riviera look. For a glam escape, try to incorporate some retro elements in your outfits and get inspired from Marilyn Monroe or from the best movies. We especially loved “To Catch a Thief” – ’55 – with Grace Kelly & Cary Grant! One-piece swimming suits or deux-piece ones with shorts are perfect for this style, but keep an eye for the retro detailing – such as bows, golden buttons, stripes or laces.
